How to use the reaction time test
This measures visual reaction time: how long it takes between a color change appearing on screen and your click registering. The delay before each trial is randomized so you cannot anticipate it, which is what makes the result meaningful.

- Measuring your baseline visual reaction time and tracking it over time.
- Comparing how tiredness, caffeine or time of day affect your responsiveness.
- Seeing how much your monitor refresh rate and input lag contribute to the total number.
How to run the test
- 1Get comfortable with your hand already resting on the mouse before starting.
- 2Wait for the screen to change color, then click as quickly as you can.
- 3Do not click early, since anticipating the change invalidates the trial.
- 4Complete at least five attempts, since a single result is dominated by chance.
